The LIV Golf Invitational series began on June 9. Although it only started this week, it attracted many people. However, not in the way league officials would like him to be popular.

The message is from Alan Shipnuck, the author of Phil Mickelson’s biography “Phil”. He has also written 8 other books, including national bestsellers Bud, Sweat & Tees and The Swinger. Notably, he posted the article about Mickelson’s controversial comments about the government backing the invite-only series online.

Mickelson went into exile after the article was published after issuing a public apology to league officials. Other than the statement, he had no communication with the public until the beginning of the week. Mickelson made a comeback after the incident at the LIV series inaugural event.

The inaugural event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series

Despite the controversies, LIV Golf managed to start the league. The Centurion Club in London is hosting its first-ever event June 9-11.

The event field consists of 12 teams with 48 players, including Dustin JohnsonPhil Mickelsonand Lee Westwood. Notably, none of the TV channels broadcast the league. Viewers can watch it directly or through selected online platforms.

The main attraction, purse money, of the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational series is $25 million. The $5 million of the total purse is for the winning team, while the rest is for the individual event, with $4 million for the winner.
