At Logitech, we believe the digital world belongs to everyone. We also believe that together we can drive big change – with activists and organizations working to end discrimination. Because of these beliefs, we donate $ 100,000 to The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), in support of their Social Media Safety Index (SMSI)

GLAAD’s Social Media Safety Index (WSIS) marks the first-ever baseline assessment of the safety experience of LGBTQ + users in the social media landscape. The Index provides recommendations for the industry as a whole and reports on the safety of LGBTQ users on social platforms that include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.

In addition to the Social Media Safety Index, GLAAD has also created an Anti-LGBTQ Online Hate Speech List that serves as an ongoing tool and resource to achieve greater online safety.

“I’m excited that Logitech is partnering with GLAAD on its Social Media Safety Index, which provides detailed and actionable recommendations to the tech industry to tackle harassment and hate speech, and create a safe experience. and inclusive for the LGBTQ community through social media and streaming platforms, ”said Sam Harnett, General Counsel of Logitech.

“At a time when harassment and attacks against the LGBTQ community are on the increase, GLAAD’s mission to foster acceptance of the LGBTQ community has never been more important,” Sam said.

This donation is made through the Logitech Cares Donor Advised Fund (DAF) held at the Tides Foundation.
